Team Outlaw went to Marietta, Ohio again this time to compete in the cage in Throwdown at the Fairgrounds 7. We took three fighters and once again dominated with three kos! Mike Drescher won by tko in just 27 seconds of the 1st round, Dave Forsythe won by tko in about a minute and a half of the 1st round, and Kenny Griffin also won with a tko in about a minute and a half of the first round. All three guys dominated with stand up and ground and pound. Team Outlaw is now 22 and 7 overall in MMA cage fights.

Members of Team Outlaw competed again in Ohio at the MMA Hard Knocks Cage fights, where they went 2-0. Dave Foresythe came away with another win making him 2-1 overall and Wesley Byard won with a first round armbar making him 2-0 averall, making team outlaw 19 and 7 now overall

April 3rd & 4th, 2009

Team Outlaw member, Kenny Ice, took home the Heavyweight title at the 2009 West Virginia Toughman Contest in Morgantown. Kenny left a path of destruction with a knock out in every fight until the finals, then winning by a unanimous decision. Good job Kenny! It is a sure bet we will hear more about him in the future.

Team Outlaw Went to Winchester, VA to valley fight league (MMA). We didn't fair as good this time but it was a valliant effort! Brandon Horner fell short of a decision in the main event for the 145 lb title against an undefeated fighter with multiple titles. He is now 3-2 with both his losses coming against champions. Mike Drescher lost by tko when he was caught behind the ear in the 2nd round after completely dominating his opponant and breaking his hand on his face! Tough break for Mike. He is now 1-1 in the cage. Dave Forsythe faced a collegiant wrestler and dominated with punches before being caught in a choke in the 2nd round in only his 2nd MMA fight. Dave is now 1-1 in the cage. Steve Roberts had a tough outing in only his 3rd MMA fight against an opponant with 12 fights (9-3). Dominated with punches till he was hurt at the end of the 1st round and couldn't recover in time before being caught in the 2nd round. Steve is now 2-1 in the cage. This was a good learning experience for us and our fighters and also a big step up in competition. We are now 17-7 in MMA. We will be back sronger than ever!!

Freestyle MMA Training Center traveled to Ohio and Swept Hard Knocks Cage Fights for the Second Consecutive time. Team Outlaw went 7 and 0 in the Marieta, Ohio MMA competition. They took seven competitors and won all seven fights. Only one fight going past the first round. Brandon Horner (3-1) won by a verbal submission after the second round. Steve Roberts (2-0) won by the Guillotine choke in the first round. Wesley Byard (1-0) won by a triangle choke in the first round. Dave Forsyth (1-0) won by a knockout in the first round. Jestin Thomas (1-0) won by TKO - Referee Stoppage in first round. Mike Drescher (1-0) won by Forfeit and Kenny Griffen (3-1) won by rear naked choke in first round. Team Outlaw is now 17 and 3 over all in MMA competition. Owners and Trainers are Rod Michael, Jason Bearden and Steve Haning. The gym is located at 31 Middletown Road, Whitehall, WV. Gym hours are Monday and Thursday 6:30 pm and Saturday at 1:00 pm.
